Web Bots are small scriptlets that function like CGI scripts. But they are for FrontPage only. In order to use them, your site must have FrontPage extensions installed (this was an option when you signed up with Orlando Web Solutions). To add WebBots to your site, open the site that you will add them to in the FrontPage Editor. Select, from the INSERT menu, FrontPage Component... a box will popup containing all of the available webbots. Simply double click on the bot that you want to add and it will either be added automatically or a wizard will appear guiding you through the setup process.

WARNING:Forms that are processed with encrypted SSL should not be handled by webbots.

An excellent example of a web bot in action is the Timestamp bot. This can be found from the Insert Menu once you edit a page in Frontpage Editor. Simply move the cursor somewhere in your page and you can program this bot to automatically date the last time you modified your webpage for you. If you are running another bot that changes your page everyday, this bot can be programmed to change the date based on the other bot's automatic updates. You can choose how the date is displayed as well.
