Scott George is the Senior Pastor of an inter-denominational family church based in
Orlando, Florida. His vision and purpose is to reach those in the community with the
life-changing message of Jesus. The goals and visions are accomplished with the help of
the people and staff of Destiny Church. In late 1994, the church began with a group of
25 college age youth. Today, the current weekly attendance exceeds 600. God has been
faithful and met every need over the past six years.
On October 30, 1961, Scott George was born in Albian, MI, New York.
His parents, Jim and Bobbie are ordained in ministry and have served for 40 years in a
pastoral role in churches in New York and Orlando, Florida.
Scott’s grandfather, James, Sr. has served in the ministry for more than 60 years.
The heritage in ministry extends to all three generations.
He is a graduate of Edgewater High School and the University of Central Florida, Orlando,
Florida. In November 2000, he will complete his Master’s Degree through Faith Christian
University, Orlando, Florida. His wife Tammi, is a graduate of Winter Park High School and
the University of Central Florida. Their children attend Dommerich Elementary School,
Maitland, Florida.
During his senior year, at Edgewater High School, he experienced a tragedy when two other
seniors were killed in an automobile accident. From this experience, he became aware of his
call into ministry and began two weeks later, when he spoke to the junior high school
ministry at Calvary Assembly. He later served as the youth pastor from 1983 to 1985.
His years of experience in youth ministry have taken him to churches in Edmond, Oklahoma
and Dallas, Texas. He and his wife returned to Orlando, Florida in 1988 and have made the
purpose and vision of Destiny Church their life’s work.
He has led over 75 missions and ministry trips overseas to countries such as Russia,
Ukraine, Australia, Costa Rica, Peru, Ecuador, Jamaica, Mexico, Canada, England and Israel.
Scott and his wife Tammi, reside in Maitland, Florida with their four children, Austen,
Aaren, Amanda and Allison.
